Flexible enrolment. You’re in control!
Fees, Cancellations, Withdrawals and Refunds
This policy explains the $95 weekly course fee, how to cancel or withdraw, when payments stop, when a refund applies, what happens after a missed payment and how completed units are recognised.
Version 1.0 | Effective 28 July 2026 | Next review 28 July 2027
The policy at a glance
- You pay $95 per week while you are enrolled
- Your enrolment is not confirmed and learning resources are not provided until your first successful payment
- After that payment is confirmed, we will confirm your enrolment in writing and begin your access to learning resources and student support within 24 hours
- You may cancel or withdraw at any time without a cancellation fee
- Your cancellation starts on the date you first contact us
- You do not have to pay the remaining maximum course fee
- Weekly payments already processed are not partly refunded
- Any weekly payment incorrectly taken after cancellation will be refunded in full
- Successfully completed units will be listed on a Statement of Attainment
Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to domestic fee-for-service students who enrol directly with Automation Skills and pay the weekly fee shown on the course page.
Different rules may apply if Automation Skills later offers government-funded training, VET Student Loans, training to overseas students on student visas or a course with different written payment terms. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable laws still apply.
When enrolment and course access begin
Submitting an application does not confirm your enrolment or give you access to learning resources.
Your enrolment becomes official only after Automation Skills receives and confirms your first successful weekly payment.
Within 24 hours after that payment is confirmed, Automation Skills will:
- officially confirm your enrolment in writing
- start your access to the learning platform and available course resources
- start access to the student support included with your course
If the first payment is unsuccessful, enrolment will remain unconfirmed and access will not begin. Automation Skills will notify you so you can arrange another payment attempt or ask for help.
How to cancel or withdraw
You may cancel or withdraw at any time by:
- using the website contact form
- using the contact emails provided at enrolment
- using the phone numbers provided at enrolment
Please give us your full name, course and enough information to identify your enrolment. You do not have to give a reason, although your feedback is welcome.
When cancellation takes effect
Your cancellation takes effect on the calendar date when Automation Skills first receives your contact.
- For the contact form or email, we use the date the message was received, including messages received outside business hours
- For a phone call, the staff member records the date and time of the call
We will normally confirm your cancellation in writing within two business days. A processing delay will not change the effective cancellation date.
Simply stopping study, leaving the learning platform or stopping a payment does not cancel your enrolment. You must contact Automation Skills using one of the methods above.
Weekly fees and when payments stop
- The weekly course fee is $95
- The maximum payment period and maximum course fee are shown on the course page and in your enrolment information
- Payments stop when you complete the course, cancel or withdraw, Automation Skills cancels your enrolment, or you reach the maximum payment period—whichever happens first
- If you complete all required units early, your weekly payments stop early
- If you cancel or withdraw, you do not have to pay the remaining maximum course fee
- You must still pay any fees properly due for training and services provided before your cancellation date
Refunds
If you cancel before the course starts
We will refund all course fees you have paid. There is no cancellation or administration fee.
If you cancel after the course starts
Your future weekly payments stop from the effective cancellation date. A $95 weekly payment processed before we receive your cancellation is not partly refunded, even if you cancel part-way through that weekly billing period.
If a payment is taken after cancellation
We will refund the full weekly payment if it was processed after your effective cancellation date. We will also refund any other confirmed overpayment.
If Automation Skills cancels the course
If we cancel a course or cannot provide a weekly period you have paid for, we will refund that weekly payment in full. We may offer you a place in a suitable equivalent course, but you do not have to accept it.
Your consumer rights
This policy does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If the training has a major problem, cannot be provided as agreed or does not meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to cancel and receive a full or partial refund or another remedy required by law.
We will normally process an approved refund within 10 business days after receiving the information needed to make the payment. Where practical, we return the money to the original payer using the original payment method. We will explain in writing how we calculated the refund.
Completed units and Statements of Attainment
If you have been assessed as competent in one or more units, we will issue a Statement of Attainment listing those successfully completed units.
We will issue it within 30 calendar days after the relevant assessment is completed and you leave the course, provided:
- your Unique Student Identifier has been verified
- you have paid all agreed fees properly owing up to your cancellation date
Units that you have not successfully completed will not be shown as completed.
Missed or failed payments
If you are having trouble making a payment, contact us as soon as possible. We may be able to arrange a short extension or another reasonable payment arrangement.
- When a payment is missed: We will notify you and may retry the payment or ask you to pay another way
- After 7 calendar days: We will send an overdue notice and give you an opportunity to pay or agree to an arrangement
- After 14 calendar days: We may temporarily suspend your learning-platform access, trainer support and assessment processing after notifying you
- After 28 calendar days: We may cancel your enrolment after sending a final written notice with the proposed cancellation date
If we cancel your enrolment for non-payment, you only owe amounts properly due for training and services provided up to the cancellation date. You do not become liable for the remaining maximum course fee or future weekly payments.
You may still receive a Statement of Attainment for successfully completed units once you meet the requirements in this policy.
When Automation Skills may cancel an enrolment
Automation Skills may cancel an enrolment at any time, for any reason it reasonably believes makes cancellation necessary. This may include ongoing non-payment, serious misconduct, a serious breach of enrolment conditions, repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact a student who has stopped participating, risks to students or staff, legal or regulatory requirements, or circumstances that prevent us from continuing the course.
We will officially notify you of the cancellation in writing. The notice will explain the reason, the cancellation date and any refund, amount owing or Statement of Attainment outcome.
Automation Skills may leave out some or all of the reason only where legal advice, a legal obligation, an investigation, privacy requirements or safety concerns prevent us from disclosing it. Where we can do so, we will tell you that information has been withheld and why it cannot be provided.
Questions, reviews and complaints
You may ask us to explain or review a cancellation date, fee balance, refund, payment suspension or cancellation decision. Tell us the relevant dates, payment details and the outcome you are seeking.
Contact Automation Skills using the website contact form, the contact emails provided at enrolment or the phone numbers provided at enrolment.
Asking for a review does not prevent you from using your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or contacting your state or territory consumer protection agency. You may also raise concerns about RTO compliance with the Australian Skills Quality Authority where applicable.
